The majority of our beads are fire polished for brillance so that it is not necessary for them to contain lead in order to sparkle!
Most of the stones used in Country Dutchess Jewelry are simulated gemstones or cubic zirconia. There are no genuine gemstones used in Country Dutchess Jewelry unless specifically stated on the product page.
The vast majority of our earring clips and settings are silver or gold plate over brass or iron. Some of the findings in our Starlight and other CZ collections are sterling silver, identifed in the product description. Some ear wires are surgical steel as indicated in the product description.
IMPORTANT: A a few of the base metal settings and some crystals found in our Pin Collection and some of our Button Earring Collection may contain tiny amounts of lead, a chemical that, when ingested or swallowed is known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm if ingested.
If you purchase these items, we recommend that you wash your hands after handling them, and keep them away from small children, infants and pets. Do not put this jewelry in your mouth.
If you have any allergies to base metal or have had an adverse reaction to fashion or costume jewelry in the past, please do not buy our plated styles. Instead, please shop from our sterling line or surgical steel designs.
In the near future our plan is to have CountryDutchess become one of the first totally LEAD-FREE jewelry sites on the internet. We love all our customers and want you to be with us for a long, long time! :)
